La geografía crítica de Octavio Paz
Abstract
El propósito de este texto es hacer una revisión de las preferencias de Octavio Paz, en su trabajo de crítica acerca del arte mexicano, así como exponer algunas ideas sobre las causas que, a mi juicio, motivan estas preferencias. Este recorrido lo he denominado geográfico porque incluye diversos itinerarios que el poeta emprendió por vastos territorios de las artes visuales. Con frecuencia se pretende descalificar la actividad de crítica de arte de Paz, a propósito de lo cual se hace referencia a las omisiones y ausencias de muchos artistas en sus ensayos sobre este tema. Menciono la palabra omisión, aunque creo que, más que omitir, el escritor buscó afinidad, empatía, identificación con sus preocupaciones poéticas. Las características de esa geografía serán pues el tema de este ensayo.Downloads
