Notes on the Role of the Biblical Verse and its Presence in the Spanish American Poetry
Abstract
This article is a reflection about the origin and development of the Biblical verse in the Western Poetry, and its presence in the Spanish American Poetry. It examines the verbal functions, devices and proceedengs of the verse. It explains why the Biblical verse flourished in the Anglo-Saxon literatures, but only belatedly was adopted by the Catholic cultures.Downloads
