Gran Nayar Memories: the Report of the President of the Audiencia of Guadalajara of 1674
Abstract
The Gran Nayar, north to the Nueva Galicia’s capital, remained as a hostile territory to the Spaniards until its conquest in 1722. The document written by the president of the Audiencia of Guadalajara in 1674 shows the efforts to achieve the subjugation of the region inhabitants and its content may be compared to the report of fray Antonio Arias y Saavedra of 1673.Downloads
