From the Body that is Represented to the Body that is Felt. George Vigarello and the Study of the Body in History
Abstract
The text is based on the interest inobserving the directions taken by studies of the body in recent historiography, which makes it its subject of study. The essay is divided into three sections; the first two attempt to outline a general panorama of historical studies on the body, highlighting some trends and problems. The second focuses on the case of the historian Georges Vigarello, in order to ground the observations of the first sections.Downloads
