Abstract

This paper establishes categories to analyze gender speech in the Literary press of the nineteenth century. The sources trace the release of Mexican female voices in the presses, a release that arises also during processes of national liberation. Sources start with the firts literary magazines of Independent Mexico, then follow those of the Restored Republic, to finally inform about women as great publishing entrepreneur. The hypothesis suggests that once the public space is open to women writers, the real interest for women, the so called gender claims emerge, and from there the feminist rise up.
