Gender and subversion in everyday use objects

Abstract

This article attempts to identify the transformation of women’s roles exemplified in women´s publications appeared from 1950 to 1999 in Mexico City: Madame, Vanidades and Cosmopolitan. Following a few references and allusions to girls’ play in these publications, some anthropomorphic toys for girls were reviewed in order to draw differences  and parallels.
