Self-fashioning in Ercilla’s epic poem: The discourse on arms and letters
Abstract
This article deals with the function of the Renaissance discourse on arms and letters in the epic poem La Araucana by Alonso de Ercilla y Zuñiga. The aim of this analysis is to show the fact that Ercilla depicts himself in his work by using the topic of the ideal knight who is a poet and a soldier by trade.Downloads
