Multiculturalismo, cuerpo y género: un debate contemporáneo
Abstract
El multiculturalismo, en sus variadas interpretaciones, representa la respuesta a los reclamos formulados en nombre de los grupos minoritarios o “subalternos” y en algunas formas de feminismos de las sociedades occidentales, así como las contradicciones generadas por las políticas de asimilacioncitas de los estados nacionales de viejo cuño. “El multiculturalismo contempla la existencia de la diversidad cultural en el seno de la sociedad”.Salta a la vista que el análisis del multiculturalismo ha dejado de lado a las mujeres en tanto cuerpos sometidos a las diferentes interpretaciones culturales que hacen de ellos cuerpos abyectos, desechables a partir de la diferencia básica, la sexual, y por no adecuarse a los patrones de belleza, salud y normalidad que exigen los tiempos de la globalización.Downloads
