Abstract

During the late nineteenth and early twentieth century manifested, among doctors and lawyers, longing to find the solution of the problemsthat caused the uncontrollable spread of syphilis and gonorrhea. In this paper a cross-examination of advancing medical science, changes in health legislation and social reactions to the negative stigma of such of those infections ago with the intention of showing the social tension that caused the redefinition of professional duty of the physician to control and eradication.
