Abstract
El texto analiza dos obras del autor venezolano Luis Britto García, que tratan acerca de la presencia de piratas y corsarios en el Mar Caribe, durante los siglos XVI y XVII. Demonios del mar (1998) es una investigación histórica; Pirata (1998), una novela. Tal circunstancia nos permite realizar una lectura en la que el vínculo entre la historia y la ficción sirve como punto de partida para la reflexión. Texto histórico y novela establecen relaciones de identidad, entrecruzamiento y diferencia, que hacen de la lectura en conjunto de estas dos obras sobre la piratería, una experiencia verdaderamente enriquecedora.Downloads
