Abstract

This essay is an intimate excavation of what my aversion to drawing means, and of my choice to write from the ways context presses itself into my body. It begins with an incapacity —or perhaps a resistance—: the inability to find in drawing the same intuition that arises when I write words. Through memories, references, conversations, and the discoveries that surfaced as the essay took shape, the reasons that make the drawn line such a complicated territory begin to unravel: from improvised notebooks that barely survive the daily commute, to my friends’ drawings that trigger reflections on perception, memory, and context.

Yaret Belén Ramírez Becerra, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos

Artista digital, escritora y docente. Su producción artística problematiza las relaciones de parentesco, los efectos del territorio y contexto social en el cuerpo y la mente femenina, en proyectos audiovisuales y de escritura creativa. Actualmente es docente en la Facultad de artes UAEMéx, en los talleres de videoarte, animación tradicional e investigación y desarrolla un proyecto sobre la violencia simbólica en la familia el cual transita entre el videoarte, el arte archivo y la instalación.
