The assessment of some forms of evaluation

Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the origins of the exam as an instrument to assess learning. It then discusses the need for epistemologic coherence between the didactic method, the theoretical content of an academic program and the methods utilized to evaluate the student. Finaly, it offers  a critical analysis of the multiple choice test and its shortcomings.
