The female face of police department in Italian current police procedural
Abstract
After a brief historical excursus about Italian giallo and woman’s debut as its main character, this essay focuses on female protagonists as members of police institutions and their characterization through key samples. The purpose consists in increasing the academic studies dealing with current Italian giallo as a social mirror and breaking out of the male chauvinism bias of the genre and the police institution that is no longer realistic.Downloads
