Control sanitario y control social. Los libros de registro de mujeres públicas en Oaxaca (1890-1900)
Abstract
En este artículo, el autor da cuenta de la forma en la que se fue construyendo elreglamentarismo prostibulario del siglo XIX mexicano; lo asocia con las necesidadessanitarias del incipiente industrialismo y explica cómo el registro de las mujeres de-dicadas a ese oficio devino en un control social difuso sobre la actividad prostibu-‐laria. Recurre para ello al análisis de la fotografía prostibularia de 343 expedientes de los libros de registro que conserva el Archivo Histórico Municipal del Ayuntamiento de la Ciudad de Oaxaca.Downloads
