México Industrial 1923, Una película silente centenaria, hoy, un patrimonio cultural de México.
Abstract
It has been 100 years since the film "MÉXICO INDUSTRIAL 1923" was filmed, produced, and premiered. This documentary provides a unique look into the activities and production of the textile factory owned by the Compañía Industrial de Atlixco S.A. (CIASA) in Metepec, Atlixco, Puebla. It is likely one of a kind due to its characteristics and age, deserving of its presentation at the Cineteca Nacional on September 8, 2023. A century after its production, we believe it is appropriate to contextualize and establish the true cultural and heritage value of this silent film, a unique example in the history of cinema in Mexico. This contextualization involves two aspects. Firstly, determining where it fits in the history of Mexican cinema. Secondly, understanding its place in the relationship the film establishes between cinema and industrial heritage. All of this is done with the intention of providing a proper assessment of a film that has become a significant cultural and cinematic heritage of Mexico.Downloads
