Abstract

The reception theory analyses The significance of the other in the generation of knowledge and its impact on history; this helps us restructure our expectations, life experiences and sociocultural realities. This concept of “otherness” allows us to recognize the social context of the text itself; it allows us to recognize the reader’s perception and the community’s interpretation.
